We'll begin exploring Serbia's capital, Belgrade, in the morning. Your #destinationserbia tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and, after that, your first stop will be iconic Knez Mihajlova Street. Here we will begin the story of this incredible city with over 2000 years of history, soak in the atmosphere and begin our journey through time.
Next, we go to Kalemegdan Park and Belgrade Fortress, where history comes to life within the ancient walls. Here, amidst the remnants of past civilizations, we uncover the layers of Belgrade's long and tumultuous past, shaped by diverse cultures, religions, and civilizations.
After our visit to the fortress, we hop back into the car and cross the Sava River into New Belgrade. A panoramic tour awaits, offering insights into the vision of a new, modern, socialist Yugoslavia through the planned architecture of this dynamic district.
Our journey then takes us to Zemun, affectionately dubbed "a town within a city," where the charm of old-world Central Europe awaits. In Zemun we’ll take a walk along the Danube river quay, visit the colorful green market where we’ll get familiar with Serbian food specialities and walk up the cobllestone streets all the way to Gardoš hill and Millenium Tower, to enjoy the fantastic view over Zemun.
The tour continues from Zemun to Dedinje, home of the Museum of History of Yugoslavia, in order to learn more about the country that no longer exists. This is also the place where the solemn House of Flowers, the final resting place of Yugoslav President Josip Broz Tito, is located. We will visit the museum and get familiar with the legacy of one of the most significant persons in XX century.
We'll pass by the FC Red Star stadium, the greatest football club in this part of Europe and the 1991 European champion.
Our journey then leads us to the majestic Church of Saint Sava, a remarkable testament to Serbian heritage and faith. As one of the largest Orthodox churches globally, its sheer grandeur and intricate mosaics are sure to leave you in awe. Spanning an entire century in construction, this national temple stands as a symbol of Serbian identity and resilience, ranking among the world's greatest architectural marvels.
Following our visit to this iconic landmark, we’ll begin a panoramic ride, offering panoramic views of Belgrade's historic sites. Among these is the former Headquarters of the Yugoslav National Army, a stark reminder of the challenges faced by the city in 1999, during the latest of numerous wars. Our journey also showcases other significant landmarks such as the Parliament, Old and New Royal Courts, Terazije Square, and Republic Square.

In the morning we set off to Novi Sad. After around 1h drive, during which you’ll hear captivating stories about this unique region, we’ll reach our first stop – Krušedol monastery. As the most historically and culturally significant among the 16 monasteries on "Serbian Holy Mountain" — Fruška Gora, Krušedol has served as a spiritual and cultural center for Serbs in the Austrian Empire. Known as the "Second Studenica," it was a spiritual beacon for Serbs in the region.
After Krušedol we'll take a short ride to nearby town of Sremski Karlovci. This charming town will tell us about the lives of Serbs in the Habsburg, later Austro-Hungarian Empire, and their culture, which preserved the remembrance of Serbian identity. Besides historical and cultural importance, Sremski Karlovci is also the winemaking centre of Vojvodina. There are more than 30 wineries in a little town of roughly 8000 people, and the winemaking history dates back more than 2000 years! We'll sample Bermet, the most well-known local wine, which was even offered on Titanic's maiden voyage, as well as several other localy made wines.
From Sremski Karlovci road takes us to Petrovaradin fortress. Known as "Gibraltar on the Danube", fortress got its nickname because of the significance of the location and its strategic importance on the frontier of the Austrian Empire. The Petrovaradin fortress is exceptionally well preserved due to the fact that it was never the site of a significant battle, after it was constructed as one of the most advanced artillery fortresses of its day. These days, it is also the location of EXIT, one of the largest music festivals in Europe, which takes place here every year.
Finally, we arrive in Novi Sad, Serbia's second-largest city and the so-called "Serbian Athens." We'll stroll through the lovely city center and stop at some of its most well-known attractions, including the National Theatre, Liberty Square, Zmaj Jovina Street, Church of the Name of Mary, and many others. We'll have some free time for exploring the city and tasting great local cuisine, before departing for Belgrade, where we'll return in the late afternoon.

In the morning, we set off to Western Serbia, and on our way we’ll pass through Užice – the biggest town and the center of Western Serbia. A brief stop in Užice allows us to explore Stari Grad, a 14th-century fortress perched on a cliff high above the Djetinja River valley, providing stunning views of the town. Uzice was a center of Uzice Republic, the only free state in occupied Europe during WWII, so here we’ll also get familiar with the story about partisans liberation movement and dark chapter of world’s history.After a short stop we head to Zlatibor, arriving approximately 25 minutes later.
Starting from the tourist center of Zlatibor, we’ll take a ride on Gold Gondola panoramic cable car. This extraordinary 9km-long cable car, the longest in the world, links the tourist center with Tornik, Zlatibor's highest peak (1496m) and a renowned ski center. Over a 30-minute panoramic ride, we'll enjoy the view over the sprawling slopes and meadows of Zlatibor, and Ribnica Lake, a Zlatibor gem popular for swimming during the hot summer months.
Returning to the Zlatibor center, we continue our journey to Stopica Cave, a natural wonder famous for its "siga" or limestone pools, subterranean water slopes, and cave formations. After delving into the cave's depths, we head to our next destination—Sirogojno village.
The Old Village museum awaits, preserving traditional architecture, ways of life, and customs of Western Serbia's people. Original wooden houses, transported from surrounding villages, stand as a testament to ancestral heritage.
After getting familiar with the culture of Western Serbia we will go to Ljubiš village. Here, cuisine takes center stage, and we'll indulge in the flavors of the region at a family-owned traditional restaurant. Experience the simplicity and incredible taste of local dishes, accompanied by a sampling of rakija, a traditional Serbian drink.
Late in the afternoon we’ll go to our accommodation for the night, in Užice or at Zlatibor.
In the morning we set off to Mokra Gora, village acclaimed “The Best Tourism Village in the World” by World Tourism Organization. Mokra Gora gained global fame largely due to the iconic Shargan Eight train. This historic railway once formed part of the route connecting Belgrade to Dubrovnik on the Adriatic coast via Sarajevo. Passengers traversed the rugged Balkan landscapes aboard these vintage carriages, immersing themselves in the natural splendor of the region. While the railway was eventually overshadowed by modernization, a 15km stretch of the line has been meticulously restored and is now one of the Serbias’ premier tourist attractions. Here, we embark on a nostalgic journey aboard a century-old train, marveling at the pristine beauty of the Shargan and Tara National Park. Prepare to be transported back in time as we traverse this engineering marvel, soaking in the unspoiled wilderness and rich history of the region.
After ride, we resume our journey, heading towards the majestic slopes of Tara mountain. Renowned as one of Serbia's five national parks, Tara stands out for its untamed wilderness, offering a glimpse into nature's unspoiled beauty. Here, the landscape remains largely untouched by human intervention, boasting lush evergreen forests that cloak its slopes and provide sanctuary to a diverse array of wildlife.
Tara's biodiversity is truly remarkable, with brown bears being among its most celebrated inhabitants. With a bit of luck, we might even catch a glimpse of these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.
Our exploration of Tara continues as we visit several scenic viewpoints, including Zmajevac, Banjska Stena, Sokolarica, and two picturesque lakes, Zaovine and Perućac. Each stop promises breathtaking vistas and opportunities to immerse ourselves in the tranquility of this pristine wilderness. As we traverse Tara's rugged terrain, we'll discover numerous hidden gems and enchanting natural wonders, ensuring an unforgettable experience amidst the splendor of Serbia's wildest national park.
Late in he afternoon we set off to Belgrade where we reach after approximatelz 3h drive.

We set off in the morning and the road takes us east to the Djerdap National Park.
We arrive at our first stop, Golubac Fortress, after about 2 hours of driving. This fortress was built in the 14th century and has stood proudly on the rock above the river, guarding the entrance to the Djerdap gorge ever since.
We'll travel back in time to hear stories about the fortress's rulers and the knights who fought here. We continue driving through the Djerdap gorge, taking in the stunning scenery along the way, until we arrive at our next stop, the archeological site of Lepenski Vir. For decades, this site has piqued the interest of world archaeologists, as well as visitors. The over 9000-year-old settlement is the oldest permanent settlement ever discovered and is regarded as the cradle of European civilization. We’ll learn about the way of life of our forefathers on the banks of this mighty river.
During today's tour, we'll see the widest point on the Danube's entire course, near Golubac - 6 kilometers, as well as the narrowest point, just 140 meters. We travel to the Mali and Veliki Kazan gorges and stop at a lookout point to take in the scenery created by the Danube and Mother Nature.
On the way back, we will take a lunch break at Kapetan Misa’s hill, before returning to Belgrade. It is a traditional village household, serving home-made food of the East Serbia. Return to Belgrade in early evening hours.
