Tour Description

Tour Description

Experience Belgrade through its rich history and delicious flavors on this unique walking tour. Starting at the Republic Square, the city's vibrant heart and gathering place, you’ll dive into more than 2,000 years of history as we explore the fascinating stories and landmarks that have shaped the city.

We begin with a stroll down Knez Mihajlova Street, leading us to Skadarlija, the Bohemian quarter, where the charm of old Belgrade still thrives. Here, you'll discover the rich culture of the city, with its cobblestone streets and traditional architecture. From there, we'll head to Bajloni Green Market, where we’ll taste some of the best traditional Serbian meats and cheeses. Try pršuta (prosciutto), kajmak (creamy cheese), čvarci (pork cracklings), and more, all while learning about Serbia’s culinary traditions. We’ll also enjoy rakija, Serbia’s iconic fruit brandy, and delve into its significance in local culture.

Next, we'll continue our walk through the Dorćol area. For craft beer enthusiasts, there’s the option to visit a local brewery and enjoy a pint of Serbia’s best craft beer, learning about the country’s growing craft beer scene.

The tour continues with a visit to Kalemegdan Park and Belgrade Fortress, where we’ll uncover the layered history of Belgrade, from its Celtic fortifications to its role in the Ottoman Empire and beyond. Walking through the fortress, you'll see remnants from various periods and hear fascinating stories from its long history.

From the fortress, we’ll head to the city center to explore Knez Mihailova Street and the Kosančićev Venac area. Here, we’ll visit the Orthodox Cathedral Church, the Palace of Princess Ljubica, the oldest tavern '?' (The Question Mark), and learn about Belgrade's past, including the tragic bombing of the National Library in 1941.

Finally, we’ll end the tour with a classic taste of Serbian cuisine—ćevapi, the delicious grilled meat that has become a Balkan staple, served at a local 'ćevabdžinica.'
